Dear Mayor Cantrell, Councilmember Banks, and elected leaders,

We, the undersigned organizations, businesses, community groups and associations, support planned improvements to Downtown streets planned as part of the City of New Orleans' Moving New Orleans Bikes program. These include:

We believe new and improved bike lanes, parking-protected lanes, walking & biking boulevards, high-visibility crosswalks, and repaired sidewalks will provide our neighborhoods with more safe, accessible, convenient, and sustainable mobility options for the people who live and work here, whether we're driving, walking, biking, using a wheelchair, or riding the bus.

Better infrastructure for biking, walking, and transit benefits our community - including those of us who primarily drive - by improving safety for everyone, reducing traffic congestion, opening parking spots for cars by providing realistic transportation alternatives, increasing economic activity at neighborhood businesses, building equitable access to opportunity and jobs, enhancing public health, and contributing to overall quality-of-life for New Orleans.

Please do all you can to expeditiously implement 'Moving New Orleans Bikes' and work with our communities so residents are fully aware and engaged in making New Orleans streets equitable, safe and accessible for all.
